Seasons of the Farm — How We Work with Nature
If there’s one thing farming teaches you, it’s that you’re not in charge — nature is. Each season brings its own tasks, challenges, and blessings, and we’ve learned to flow with that rhythm instead of fighting it.

Spring: New Beginnings
Spring is full of new life — lambs, kids, and calves. The pastures green up, and our focus turns to rotational grazing, garden planting, and fence repair. It’s a time of renewal and endless to-do lists, but it’s also our favorite season of hope.
Summer: Long Days, Hard Work
Summer is when the farm is at full throttle. We make hay, harvest vegetables, and manage pastures daily to keep the animals fed and cool. The sun sets late, and even though the work seems endless, there’s satisfaction in seeing the fruits of our labor everywhere you look.
Fall: Harvest and Preparation
As the air cools, we start storing hay, preserving produce, and preparing for winter. The animals get a little extra feed, and we check shelters, fences, and water lines to make sure everything’s ready for the cold months ahead.
Winter: Rest and Reflection
Winter slows everything down. The animals stay close to the barns, chores are simpler, and evenings are spent planning next season’s crops and rotations. It’s a quieter time, but a necessary one — both for us and the land.
Living by the seasons reminds us that nature’s pace is the right pace. Each phase has its purpose, and when we work with it, the farm thrives — and so do we.
