Shipping policies vary by product type. Please review the section below that applies to your order before completing checkout.


Farm Store Products

Farm Store products, including meat, eggs, plants, and other farm-raised goods, are not shipped.

Local Pickup & Local Delivery

  • Farm products are available for local pickup.
  • Local delivery of meat orders is available within the Durham, North Carolina area only.

Local delivery availability, delivery days, and order minimums (if applicable) are communicated at checkout or during order coordination.

We do not ship farm products outside of our local delivery or pickup area.

Calistea Apothecary Products

General Shipping Information

Calistea Apothecary orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail, USPS First Class, or UPS, using ground or the most economical shipping option available. Orders typically arrive within 2–8 days, depending on shipping method and destination. We are located in North Carolina.

If you have specific shipping needs—such as expedited shipping, insurance, signature confirmation, or delivery timing—please contact us prior to ordering. Additional costs may apply for shipping upgrades and are the responsibility of the buyer.

Because all Calistea products are handcrafted, packaged, and shipped by us, please allow 2–3 business days for processing before your order ships. Once shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with tracking information.

Eco-Friendly Packaging

We strive to use environmentally conscious packaging whenever possible, including kraft cardboard boxes, recycled-content bubble wrap, and biodegradable or compostable packing materials.

Shipping Address Accuracy

Please ensure your shipping address is entered correctly at checkout. We are not responsible for packages that do not arrive due to an incorrect address provided by the buyer.

If a package is returned to us due to an incorrect address, the buyer may choose to:

  • Have the order restocked for a $5 fee, or
  • Have the order re-shipped at the buyer’s expense

If the actual shipping cost exceeds $5, the buyer will be charged the full cost to re-ship the order.

Lost or Stolen Packages

It is the customer’s responsibility to provide a safe and secure delivery location. Calistea Apothecary is responsible for packages while they are in our care but cannot be held liable for packages lost, damaged, or stolen after they have been transferred to USPS or UPS.

If a tracking number shows that a package has been successfully delivered, we do not issue refunds or replacements. Even when shipping insurance is purchased, USPS and UPS do not reimburse packages marked as delivered.

If your package is marked delivered but cannot be located, we recommend:

  1. Checking around your delivery area for hidden placement
  2. Asking neighbors if the package was received in error
  3. Contacting the shipping carrier to file a claim

To reduce risk, customers may choose delivery to a business address, secure lockbox, or request specific delivery instructions.

Temperature Considerations

Calistea products are made with natural ingredients and do not contain synthetic preservatives. As a result, they are more sensitive to temperature extremes.

  • Hot temperatures may cause oils to spoil more quickly or balms to melt
  • Cold temperatures may cause oils and butters to become grainy

Melted solid products can usually be re-solidified by placing them in the refrigerator. This may alter texture but does not typically affect performance.

We recommend storing products in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight. If you have concerns about a product’s condition upon arrival, please contact us.

Damage & Returns

Due to the nature of body care products, returns are not accepted.

If there is an issue with your order, please reach out and we will work with you to find an appropriate solution. We offer select samples so customers may test certain products before committing to full-size purchases.

Calistea Apothecary is not responsible for damage during shipping, packages lost due to incorrect addresses, or theft after delivery.
