Slow-Cooked Pulled Pork Sandwiches
When cooler weather rolls in, nothing beats the smell of slow-cooked pork filling the kitchen. Our pasture-raised pork shoulder makes this recipe tender, juicy, and full of flavor — a true farm favorite.
Ingredients
- 3–4 lb Rambo Family Farm pork shoulder or butt roast
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 cup BBQ sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- ½ cup apple cider vinegar
- ½ cup broth or water
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Rolls or buns, for serving
Directions
- Place sliced onion in the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Rub the pork with brown sugar, paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Set pork on top of the onions. Pour vinegar, broth, and half the BBQ sauce over it.
- Cover and cook on low 8–10 hours (or high for 4–5) until the meat pulls apart easily.
- Shred pork, mix in remaining BBQ sauce, and serve on buns with coleslaw or pickles.
